Wyrd & Word is a purveyor and publisher of the High Strange. We look for texts and interventions that reveal how new possibilities exist when we allow ourselves to do and be weird.
Our name comes from the Old English wyrd: "fate, chance, fortune; destiny; the Fates." Later, this word transforms into the weird, or a “force that sets events in motion or determines their course; what is destined to befall" us. We want to see texts that confront and challenge us, that set new futures in motion, pointing to unimagined possibilities for what can appear in print. We want to become something a bit more strange, just by having read your work. Teach us something we will never unlearn. Show us something that can’t be unseen.
